Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of PocketJarvis, including the Telegram bot, WhatsApp private-chat integration, website, Google Sheets integration, document-processing features, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Description of the Service

PocketJarvis is a chat-first personal finance assistant. It can record expenses from natural-language messages, track income and budgets, manage shopping lists and reminders, split Telegram group expenses, process receipt photos and financial documents, and optionally sync confirmed records to Google Sheets.

Telegram private chat, Telegram group chat, and WhatsApp private chat do not have identical feature coverage. WhatsApp group chats are not implemented. Features may vary by channel, configuration, file type, language, and service limits.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you lack legal capacity to enter into a contract, you may use the Service only with a parent or guardian's authorization; a paid purchase may be made only by a person with contractual capacity or with the authorization required by law. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these conditions and have authority to use any account or group chat where you enable PocketJarvis.

3. Your responsibilities

• Use the Service only for lawful personal, household, small-group, or similar finance-tracking purposes.
• Do not upload illegal content, malware, secrets that do not belong to you, or documents you are not allowed to process.
• Do not attempt to disrupt, scrape, reverse-engineer, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the Service.
• Review extracted expenses, invoices, receipts, budgets, balances, and Sheets data before relying on them.
• Keep your Telegram, WhatsApp, and Google accounts secure.

4. Your data

You retain ownership of the data you submit to PocketJarvis. You grant us a limited license to store, process, transmit, and display that data only as needed to provide, secure, maintain, and improve the Service.

You can request deletion of personal account data with /delete_my_data. See the Privacy Policy for details about data collection, processing, retention, deletion, and third-party processors.

5. Google Sheets integration

The Google Sheets integration is optional. When you connect Google, you authorize PocketJarvis to create and write to spreadsheets used by the Service. PocketJarvis uses limited Google access and does not request broad access to your entire Google Drive.

You can revoke Google authorization at any time from Google Account Permissions. Revoking access may stop future sync until you reconnect.

6. Open Banking

The Open Banking integration is an optional pilot available only to approved users. ING Bank Romania is the only bank available in the current pilot. With your consent, PocketJarvis uses Enable Banking to connect available accounts in read-only mode and import account, balance, and transaction data. Strong customer authentication takes place in the secure environment of the bank or provider; PocketJarvis does not request or store bank credentials.

Banca Transilvania is not yet available. Export to YNAB is a separate future integration, not a bank; neither has a public launch date. PocketJarvis does not initiate payments or transfers, is not a bank, and has no official partnership with ING Bank Romania or Banca Transilvania. Consent is time-limited and may require reauthorization. You can disconnect at any time; local imports stop immediately and provider revocation is attempted separately. Data may be delayed, incomplete, or temporarily unavailable for reasons attributable to the bank or provider.

7. Document and receipt processing

PocketJarvis may process receipt photos and documents such as PDF, DOCX, XLSX, and TXT files. Extraction is best-effort and may use local parsers, OCR, packaged supplier schemes, user-trained supplier profiles, or configured AI fallback.

Extracted data may be incomplete, wrong, delayed, duplicated, or unavailable. You are responsible for reviewing confirmations before saving and for correcting inaccurate records.

8. Plan, trial, and payments

PocketJarvis is currently available as a free public beta. We do not request a card and do not initiate charges or renewals for beta use.

If paid plans are introduced, the price, trial, limits, effective date, and applicable terms will be communicated clearly before a user explicitly chooses to purchase. Using the beta never creates a paid subscription automatically.

Issues concerning a payment previously completed through an authorized channel remain eligible for support through /paysupport and are handled through the original provider.

9. Service availability and changes

The Service is provided on a best-effort basis. We may modify, suspend, limit, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, including parsers, integrations, file-processing limits, supported platforms, and worker jobs.

External platforms such as Telegram, WhatsApp, Google, Enable Banking, banks, hosting providers, and AI APIs may change their availability or rules, which can affect the Service.

10. No financial, tax, or legal advice

PocketJarvis is an expense-tracking and organization tool. It does not provide financial, accounting, tax, investment, or legal advice. Records and summaries may be useful for personal tracking, but they are not a substitute for professional bookkeeping or advice.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that extracted or synced data will always be accurate.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or financial opportunity arising from your use of the Service.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, create security risk, abuse service resources, or use the Service unlawfully.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will be published on this page with an updated date. Material changes affecting a paid service will be communicated before they take effect where required by law. Continued use constitutes acceptance only where the law permits; we will request express consent where it is mandatory.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Romania, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. This choice does not limit mandatory consumer rights available in your country of residence. Disputes will be resolved by the courts competent under applicable law. Romanian consumers may consult the alternative dispute-resolution procedure offered by ANPC SAL.
